Sacramento South Area Transfer Station
Sacramento, CA

A BioCNG system was developed in 2012 for the Sacramento South Area Transfer Station’s Organic Waste Recycling Center, in Sacramento, CA.

The system uses about 100 scfm of gas from a food waste digester, which will yield 450-DGE/day in fuel. The fuel is used for Atlas Disposal waste hauling trucks.

In 2015 an expansion of the facility was completed, adding a BioCNG 200 to utilize additional biogas from the food waste digester.  This expansion has the capacity to produce an additional 1100 DGE of BioCNG per day bringing the daily production potential to 1550 DGE per day of renewable vehicle fuel.  The additional fuel is purchased by large refuse haulers in the area.
